US plate prices continue slow descent
Plate market players find another week of slumping prices in a slow market, Kallanish learns.
“The plate market continues to move downward. Inquiry levels and order books are down. Plate inventories are low as pricing concerns continue. Transactional prices from service centres moved down from last week,” explains an East Coast service centre operator.
Prices have decreased to $1,440-1,450/short ton from $1,450-1,460/st last week.
