US plate mills see little restocking; prices stabilise
Pricing for carbon steel plate in the US has stabilised this week, with mills attempting to maintain prices at levels they achieved in the spring and early summer.
Kallanish has adjusted its US plate price to a range of $1,510-1,570/short ton. Prior reports of prices significantly below $1,500/st were mostly available from large service centres selling inventory at a discount to the mills, according to market participants.
