US-origin surge helps boost Indian scrap imports
Indian imports of ferrous scrap under HS code 7204 rose 11.5% on-year in August to 677,194 tonnes, Kallanish learns from Indian commerce ministry data. The average value of imported obsolete scrap under HS code 720449 was $335/tonne versus $383/t a year earlier.
