US multi-unit housing starts jump on-month, completions fall
US new construction data for July reveal a month-on-month decrease in housing completions and building permits for multiple-unit dwellings, while housing starts increased, Kallanish learns from the Census Bureau.
The rate of housing starts for buildings with five or more units was 363,000 in July, up 11.7% on-month but down 21.8% year-on-year.
