US mills steel shipments fall again in August
Total shipments of steel from US mills fell month-on-month in August as the downturn in the US steel sector appears to continue.
The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) tells Kallanish that for the month of August 2015, US mills shipped 7,470,120 net tons of steel.
This is a -1.6% decrease from the 7,591,897nt shipped in July 2015, and a -11.9% fall from the 8,480,954nt shipped in August 2014, the institute says. Shipments year-to-date in 2015 are 59,042…
