US mill shipments slide in June

US steel mill shipments appear to have slipped from May to June, but remain up from June 2017, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute. US mills shipped 7.988 million short tons in June, down -0.8% from May but up 3.2% from June 2017. Hot-rolled sheet shipments fell by -1%, while both cold-rolled sheet and hot-dipped galvanized sheet shipments fell by -2%. Year-to-date shipments stand at 47.304m st, up 4.1% on year.
