US mill shipments rise in October
US steel mill shipments ticked up 2% from September to October, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
October shipments totaled 7.71 million short tons, up 12.8% from October 2016.
Hot-dipped galvanized sheet shipments increased 6% month-on-month, while cold-rolled shipments fell -2% and hot-rolled shipments fell -5%.
Year-to-date shipments as of October stood at 76.138m st, up 4.8% versus the comparable period in 2016.
