US mill shipments rise in March
US steel mill shipments climbed 6.4% in March, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
March shipments reached 7.692 million short tons, up from 7.232m st in February. Year-on-year, shipments increased 4.3%.
Hot-rolled and cold-rolled shipments increased 13% and 8%, respectively, month-on-month. Hot-dipped galvanized shipments also increased 8%.
Year-to-date shipments through March totalled 22.633m st up 6% from last year.
