US mill shipments rise in June
US steel mill shipments perked up in June, both on-month and on-year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US steel mills shipped 7.74 million short tons in June, up 1% from May and 1.4% from June 2016. Hot-rolled shipments were level month-on-month, hot-dipped shipments rose 1% and cold-rolled shipments fell -4%.
Year-to-date shipments reached 45.5m st in June, up 3% from the equivalent period in 2016.
