US mill shipments rise in January
US steel shipments rose on month and on year in January, Kallanish understands from an American Iron and Steel Institute report.
US steel shipments were nearly 8.08 million short tons in January, up 3.5% from December and 5.8% from January 2018.
From December, hot-rolled sheet shipments rose 3%; cold-rolled, 7%; and hot-dipped galvanized, 5%.
