US mill shipments increase in January
US steel mill shipments rose both on-month and on-year in January, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US mill shipments topped 8.53 million short tons in January, up 6.4% from December and 5.6% from January 2019.
On-month, hot-rolled sheet shipments rose by 6%, while cold-rolled sheet shipments rose by 12% and hot-dipped galvanized sheet shipments rose by 13%.
