US mill shipments drop in April
US steel mill shipments appear to have declined on-month in April, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US mill shipments were 8.21 million short tons in April, down -1.4% from March’s figure but up 5.3% from April 201.
Hot-dipped galvanized sheet shipments rose 2% from March and cold-rolled sheet shipments rose 1%. This was offset, however, by a -4% dip in hot-rolled sheet shipments.
