US mill shipments decline in September

US mill shipments dropped from August to September but remain above 2020 levels, the American Iron and Steel Institute reports. Shipments from US mills reached 8.085 million short tons in September. This was a 3.8% decline from August shipments of 8.4m st, but a 21.3% rise from September 2020 shipments of 6.66m st.
