US mill output ticks up

Steel production in the US picked up last week on higher production in the Southern and Western states, according to the American Iron and Steel Institute’s latest weekly report sent to Kallanish. US mills operated at 80.1% of capabilities during the week ended 19 February, producing an estimated 1.764 million short tons of raw steel.
