US mill output dips to this year’s low
The latest report from the American Iron and Steel Institute shows raw steel output in the US last week dipping to its lowest weekly amount so far this year.
During the week ended 26 February, US mills, operating at 79.7% of capabilities, produced an estimated 1.755 million short tons of raw steel. This was a drop of 0.5% from the week before and a decline of 0.9% from the same week in 2021 when mills were operating at 76.8%.
