US June imports tick down, finished proportion up
Total US steel imports fell in June, though finished steel imports are up month-on-month, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI).
The US imported 2.63 million short tons of steel in June, about 2.22m st of that finished. Total steel imports thus fell -8.6% from May’s figure, while finished steel imports rose 6.3%.
