US June import permits rise
June’s US steel import applications are up significantly from May’s preliminary count, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Citing data from the US Department of Commerce, the institute puts June import applications at 2.695 million short tons – up 2.3% from May’s application figure and up 30.7% from May’s preliminary import total.
