US increases weekly raw steel production
Weekly raw steel production in the US for the week ended 25 May was 1.735 million short tons with a capacity utilisation rate of 78.1%, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute. Raw steel production increased by 0.4% week-on-week. In the week ended 18 May, raw production was 1.728m st and utilisation was 77.8%.
The latest figure represents a 1.1% decrease from the equivalent period of 2023 when production was 1.754m st, and utilisation was 77.9%…
