US increases raw steel production

US raw steel production rose both on week and on year in the week ended 5 May, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute. Raw steel production stands at 1.779 million short tons at an average capability utilisation of 75.9%. That’s up 1.4% from the previous week, when utilisation was 74.8%, and up 3.5% from the equivalent week last year, when the utilisation was 73.7%.
