US imposes quota system on Japan steel imports

The United States government has implemented a new round of its 1.25 million tonnes/year quota system for Japan-origin duty-free steel imports from 1 April, Kallanish notes. Duty-free quotas have been allocated to 54 commodities, and import volumes will be managed quarterly.
