US imports trend down in April
Both US total and finished steel imports declined in April, according to the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Citing Census Bureau data, the AISI says the US imported a total of 2.456 million short tons of steel in April, 2.014m st of which was finished. Those figures are down -5.6% and -4.1, respectively, from March’s tally, Kallanish notes.
