US imports still dragging year on year
US total and finished steel imports fell by double-digits from August to September, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI).
Citing data from the US Department of Commerce, the AISI says September total steel imports were 2.745 million short tons, 2.108m st of which were finished. That’s down -10.2% and -11.2%, respectively, from August.
