US imports spike in July
US steel imports appear to have risen in July, though overall figures remain down on year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US import applications for July totaled 3.57 million short tons, while import applications for finished steel reached 1.88m st – up 75.1% and 8.9%, respectively, from June’s final figures.
