US imports slump in June
US imports appear to have fallen in June, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
The US imported 1.391 million short tons of steel in June, 1.31m st of which was finished. That’s down -23% and -12.7%, respectively, from May.
Despite the overall dip, the institute notes that line pipe imports increased by 30% on-month and hot-dipped galvanized sheet and strip imports increased by 23% on-month.
