US imports slip in December, 2017

US steel imports appear to have dropped precipitously in December, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute. Total December import applications fell -10.5% from November to 2.473 million short tons. About 1.854m st of that total was finished steel, down -14.6% from November.
