US imports slide in October
US imports appear to have shrunk from September to October, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
The US issued permits for 3.11 million short tons in October, 2.419m st of which was finished, down -0.3% and -3.4%, respectively, from September’s tallies.
Year-to-date imports stand at 32.841m st, 25.375m st of which was finished – up 19.4% and 15.1%, respectively.
