US imports slide in August

US imports dropped from July to August, according to the American Iron and Steel Institute. US imports totalled 3.349 million short tons in August, 2.422m st of which was finished, Kallanish understands. That is down -4.8% and -16.8%, respectively, from July’s final tally.
