US imports sink in July, still up year-to-date
US imports fell drastically from June to July, though they remain up year on year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Citing data from the US Census Bureau, the institute puts total July imports at 3.472 million short tons, 2.868m st of which was finished. That is down -11.5% and -4%, respectively, from June’s final tally.
