US imports of steel rise in May
US total and finished steel imports appear to have increased in May, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Citing Census Bureau data, the institute puts total May imports at 3.434 million short tons, 2.574m st of which was finished. These are up 2.5% and 1.8%, respectively, from April’s tallies.
