US imports fall in September
US imports appear to have dipped in September, according to the American Iron and Steel Institute’s reading of US Department of Commerce data.
US total import applications fell to 2.739 million short tons in September, 1.98m st of which was finished. That’s down -7.6% and -1.5%, respectively, from August’s preliminary import totals, Kallanish notes.
