US imports fall in February
US imports fell by double-digit margins from January to February, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Citing Census Bureau data, the institute puts total February imports at 2.363 million short tons, 1.923m st of which was finished, down -18% and -17.6%, respectively, from January’s final tally.
Amid the general decrease, heavy structural shape imports rose 60% and wire rod imports rose 37%.
