US imports drop in September, still up year-to-date
US imports fell from August to September, but they remain up significantly year on year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Citing US Census Bureau data, the institute puts total September imports at 3.051 million short tons and finished September imports at 2.438m st – down -10.3% and 1.4%, respectively, from August.
