US imports drop in October
Total US steel imports fell in October, though the share of finished steel imports grew, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI).
Citing preliminary data from the US Census Bureau, the AISI pegs total US imports in October at 2.682 million short tons, 2.225m st of which were finished products. That represents a total decrease of -3.4% from September, but an increase of 4.7% with respect to finished products.
