US imports drop in November
US steel permit applications appear to have fallen in November, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
November permits totaled 2.85 million short tons, down -10.5% from October’s final import tally. Of that total, 2.207m st was finished and down by -13.6% from October.
Year-to-date imports totaled 35.764m st, 27.718m st of which was finished. These were down 1-7.9% and -14.6%, respectively.
