Total steel landings into US drop in July
Total steel imports into the US appear to have fallen sharply in July, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Citing US Department of Commerce license data, the institute puts total July imports at 3.458 million short tons, 2.785m st of which was finished. That is down -10.6% and -5.3%, respectively, from June’s preliminary tallies.
