US imports drop in February
US imports dropped significantly from January to February, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US total steel imports reached 2.433 million short tons in February, 1.744m st of which were finished. That’s down -30.1% and -28.8%, respectively, from January.
Year-to-date imports were 5.912m st total and 4.194m st finished, up 10.2% and down -3.6%, respectively, from last year.
