US imports appear to surge in October
US imports of steel in October appear to increased by 31.6% compared with September final figures, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Citing license data from the US Department of Commerce, the institute puts total October import permit tons at 2.979 million short tons, 2.039m st of which was finished. That is up 31.6% from September’s final tally and 9.2% from September’s finished tonnage.
