US import applications for steel rise in November
US import applications appear to have increased 5.5% from October to November, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI).
Citing data from the US Department of Commerce, AISI reports total November import applications at 2.862 million short tons, 2.274m st of which are finished.
Year-to-date total imports are down -16.5% on year at 30.379m st and finished imports are down -17.3% at 24.322m st.
