US hits India, South Korea with fittings duties
The US International Trade Commission has found evidence of injury in its investigation of forged steel fittings from India and South Korea, essentially ratifying the imposition of anti-dumping and countervailing duties.
The Commission verified that domestic players are being injured by dumped and subsidised products from India and South Korea, Kallanish understands.
In October, the US Department of Commerce found Indian goods being subsidised at rates ranging from 2.64-300.77%. India’s dumping margins were identified as 52.48-293.4%.
South Korea’s dumping margins, meanwhile, were found to be 45.31-198.38%.
As a result of the injury determination, the identified margins will now be collected as anti-dumping and countervailing duties.
The case was initiated by petitioners Bonney Forge Corporation and the United Steelworkers labour union.
