US flats exports pick up in January
After hitting a recent low in December, US steel exports picked up in January and remained slightly ahead of last year’s levels, according to US government data analysed by Kallanish.
Total steel exports reached 627,147 tonnes in January – increases of 6% month-on-month and 3% year-on-year. Shipments to North American partners Canada and Mexico accounted for 94% of the country’s steel exports in January.
