US exports rise in August
Steel exports from the US ticked up in August on higher shipments to Canada and fewer to Mexico, according to the latest US Department of Commerce data analysed by Kallanish.
Exports of American steel products reached 692,650 tonnes in August. This was a 1% increase from July exports and a 31% rise from August 2020 exports of 528,220t. August exports were up 3% compared to the monthly average of 670,569t in the first seven months of the year.
