Steel exports dip in US in April
US exports fell from March to April, though they remain up year-on-year, according to the American Institute for International Steel (AIIS).
US steel exports totalled 857,582 short tons in April, down -9.6% from March but up 7.9% from April 2016, Kallanish understands.
Exports to Mexico and Canada fell -10.3% and -2.8%, respectively, on a monthly basis. Exports to Mexico are up 9.5% from April 2016, while exports to Canada are up 6%.
