US, Europe drive Turkey's August hot-rolled flats exports
Turkish hot-rolled (HR) flat steel imports soared 67.7% year-on-year in August, thanks to a surge in intake from the US and European countries, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
August's HR flat imports came in at 231,264 tonnes. The total average value/tonne of these exports increased to $477/t from $449/t a year ago, calculations from TUIK data show.
