US drops two rigs, Canada flat on-week

The number of active oil and gas rigs in the US has decreased by two week-on-week, whilst Canada's count is unchanged, Kallanish learns from oil services company Baker Hughes. The US rig count decreased to 586 for the week ended 16 August, 56 fewer units than in the equivalent week of 2023.
