US drops one rig, Canada adds 14
The number of active oil and gas rigs in the US decreased by one week-on-week, whilst Canada increased its total operational rigs by 14, Kallanish learns from oil services company Baker Hughes.
The US rig count fell to 584 for the week ended 12 July, 91 fewer units than in the equivalent week of 2023. Within the current US tally, 478 are oil rigs, and 100 are for gas, with six categorised as miscellaneous.
