US drives Turkey's December scrap imports fall
Turkish scrap imports declined on-year in December as higher procurement from Europe could not offset the plunge in intake from the US, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
Turkey's December scrap imports declined -4.7% y-o-y to 1.74 million tonnes, while their total average value/tonne increased to $236/t from $193/t a year earlier.
