US leads Turkey's April HR flats exports decline
Turkish exports of hot rolled flat steel decreased -15.8% year-on-year to 180,712 tonnes in April, mainly on a plunge in shipments to the USA and southern Europe. The total average value of these exports dropped to $336/t from $457/t a year earlier, Kallanish calculates from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
The fall in exports follows a 41% on-year surge in March, supported by increased shipments to North Africa and Europe.
