US domestic scrap prices decrease further
Expectations for a downtrend in US scrap prices in October are gaining strength as prices keep decreasing despite the ongoing labour strike at General Motors.
Besides low export activity, mills’ local demand is also observed to be slow. Mills are expecting further price decreases and delaying their purchases while looking for ways to cancel previously bought cargoes at higher prices.
