US adds one rig, Canada drops two on-week
The number of active oil and gas rigs in the US increased by one for the week ended 17 May, whilst Canada decreased its count by two rigs this week, Kallanish learns from oil services company Baker Hughes.
The US rig count totals 604, a decrease of 116 from the equivalent week in 2023. Of the total, 497 are oil rigs, 103 are gas rigs, and four are categorised as miscellaneous.
