Upcycled steel trend growing in Japan: Gaku Ito
There is a growing trend in Japan within the scope of the circular economy – upcycling of steel. Made in electric arc furnaces, upcycled steel is 100% scrap-based, without the use of pig iron or direct reduced iron, Tokyo Steel sales manager Gaku Ito said at Kallanish Steel Scrap 2024 in Istanbul last week.
